It spent enormous compute identifying and exploiting a previously unknown flaw, then remotely executed code on Hugging Face’s infrastructure to steal test answers. Both OpenAI and Hugging Face independently detected and stopped the attack. Hugging Face CEO Clément Delangue called it “mind-blowing” but said there was “no malicious intent” from OpenAI.
